Our February foodie bucket list! Here are 10 things you must try 🤤

Our February foodie bucket list! Here are 10 things you must try 🤤

We’re already into the second month of 2021 and there's so much that we still want to do. We're pretty sure that we're not the only ones who feel that way, so here are some great things you can do this month: 🤔

Try out Australian cuisine

If you haven't tried Australian-inspired food yet, this is your time to do so. You can give it a shot at Two Buoys, where they make some killer Aussie-inspired dishes.

Get take-out from Tikka’s Thai Street Food

I might be late to the party, but I only discovered this place during the last days of 2020. I fell in love with Tikka's Thai Street Food as soon as I took the first bite. It's so fresh and delicious and it warms your foodie soul right up. Perfect for a chill night in! 🍜

Look out for a new Sotto Pizzeria

YES! A new Sotto Pizzeria will be opening up soon in Marsascala, so that should definitely be on your list of places to look out for. I don't know about you, but I cannot wait to order a Diavola pizza to go and eat it by the Marsascala sea. 🍕

Get some goodies from an online local food business

We can never support local food businesses enough. Given the number of restrictions that came along with COVID-19, most businesses are now delivering to your door. That's an even greater reason to treat yourself to some good stuff. Check out this list of local online food businesses you need to try out. 😍

Recreate Chef Ramsay’s Burger

We all love a good burger, but since we cannot get our hands on one of Chef Gordon Ramsay's actual burgers, we'll have to stick with trying them out at home. This recipe for the burger served at Bread Street Kitchen is super easy to make. 👌

Go vegan for a week (or more)

It might be difficult for you if you're a serious meat lover. But why not challenge yourself to try something new? Do some research for killer vegan recipes you can make at home or check out these amazing eateries that have vegan options on their menu. 🥗

Make Qaqocc

Qaqocc (artichokes) are not really one of my favourite things to eat, but the intricacy involved in cooking these gorgeous plants is beautiful. It’s very difficult to find this traditional dish in a restaurant, so why not make them at home? Follow this easy recipe from Rody’s Hearty Corner and get ready to get your hands dirty! 👐

Pack a picnic for your hike

February is the perfect time for a hike. It’s not too warm, it’s not too cold (sometimes), and nature just calls out your name. End your hike with a picnic and pack some homemade dips, fresh ftajjar, a cheese platter, egg salad, or even a homemade pie or quiche. Don’t forget to pack a thermos with freshly brewed coffee or tea and some cake for dessert! 🍰

If you don’t feel like making your own stuff, Diar il-Bniet gives you the option to order your favourite snacks and pick them up from their restaurant, so all you’re left to do is just relax! I mean, homemade gbejniet, homemade bigilla, and freshly made ftajjar biz-zejt for a picnic? Yes, please! 🤤

Celebrate National Tortilla Chip Day

That’s right, National Tortilla Chip Day. This happens on the 24th of February, and if you want to celebrate this day perfectly, stay tuned for some tricks and tips coming in soon. Whether you want to stay home or head outside, just make tortilla chips a part of this special day. 🎉
