The Ultimate FoodBlog Bucket List: July πŸ–οΈ

The Ultimate FoodBlog Bucket List: July πŸ–οΈ

Let's give a (very) warm welcome to July! Have you been trying some new foodie stuff this year? There is still so much more that this year has to offer, so to celebrate the start of the seventh month of 2021, here's seven things you can do this month to satisfy your inner foodie: πŸ˜‹

Make Bambinella Flatbread

These gorgeous little fruits are now in season! They might just look like tiny pears, but they taste mighty. Home-cook Yesenia from Apron & Whisk has a gorgeous recipe for bambinella flatbread with blue cheese and caramelised onions. 🀀

I'm not a big fan of blue cheese myself, but I still want to try this one out (maybe with a different type of cheese for me). Doesn't it look absolutely divine? It's easy to make and only takes around 30 minutes! 😍

Go cheese tasting

If you thought this did not exist in Malta, think again. Diar il-Bniet have their very own sheep farm, which means that they make their very own products and it also means that they have their very own tours (yes, plural)! πŸ‘

You can get a tour of the sheep farm followed by cheese tasting or you can even add a local deli plate or a set menu meal after the tour and cheese tasting! Check out their website for more info. ✌️

Experiment with new craft beers

Summer just isn't complete without an ice-cold beer. There are so many different beers to try out that even if you try out a new one every day, you will still not have tried them all by the end of summer. 🀷

You can find an endless variety of craft beers in Malta; just check out POPP, Brewhaus, or any other craft beer website on the island and have your own beer tasting party! If you want to experiment with making your own beer at home, POPP even have home brewing kits. 🍺

Try out Seed's summer menu

If you haven't heard the news yet, Seed have launched a brand new menu for the summer and it's just splendid. If you don't believe us, just read our full experience here. The food here is on another level, so when the new summer menu was launched, we were beyond excited. Fresh ingredients, mouth-watering flavours, stunning dishes and an overall wonderful experience. Try it out for yourself! 🀩

Have you already planned your month?

Perfect your charcuterie board skills

Charcuterie boards are the essence of a chill night. Paired with a good bottle of wine, a selection of cheeses and deli items are the perfect match. If, like me, you're not the most graceful of beings, plating a charcuterie board nicely can feel impossible. So this is the perfect time to brush up on those plating skills and learn how to place items on your charcuterie board to make it look presentable. πŸ§€

Have you seen the salami rose trick? You just place slices of salami around the rim of a wine glass and once you take it out and turn it over, you've got a beautiful rose! Have a look at our tips here to get a better idea of how to plate your platter. πŸ’ͺ

Have a pizza party

Because why not? Gather your closest friends, get your favourite pizza and just have an awesome night! To have the best pizza party, get every pizza you order with different toppings and try a slice from each one! Pair that with a good movie, some drinks and maybe even a couple of drinking games and you've got yourself the perfect night. If you don't know where to get pizza from, just have a look at our top pizza places on the island (part 1 & part 2). πŸ•

Try out the Feta Pasta

The feta pasta trend took the internet by storm in the last year and, believe me, it was for a darn good reason. This creamy, cheesy goodness is an amazing dish for summer. The juicy cherry tomatoes combined with the creaminess of the cooked feta results in an awesome pasta sauce. Learn more about this pasta and how to make it here. 🍝
