Spots to Curb your Cravings on National Pepperoni Pizza Day 🍕

Spots to Curb your Cravings on National Pepperoni Pizza Day 🍕

September 20th is Pepperoni Pizza Day, and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate this loved pizza topping by giving you a list of hot spots where you can grab a tasty pizza.

Today we celebrate American pepperoni (and its beloved Italian cousin spicy salami), and we’ve got locations to get your pizza fix, all with different styles and their own twists; so that you can find the one that’s perfect for you. Whether it’s a night in or dine out kinda meal, we’ve got your poison. 😋

What's your poison?

Without further ado, here’s 6 pepperoni/salami pizzas you just have to try:

Sotto Pizzeria

Sotto has had our hearts since the day it opened its doors, and truly never disappoints with their traditional Roman pinsa. Head to their Valletta or brand new Marsascala location for an ambient meal, or order a hassle-free delivery to the south of Malta. Grab their Diavola pinsa for a pepperoni feast that surely won’t disappoint - there’s nothing quite better when you’re in the mood for a night in with a pizza pie. 😌

Marrobio

If you’re in the mood for pizza but want to head out for a restaurant meal, Marrobbio should be up there at the top of your list. Winner of our pizza poll, Marrobbio is definitely one of the stars on the island when it comes to all things Italian. Now tell me this isn’t the most stunning Diavola you’ve ever seen…

Oh, and promise you’ll come back here to try the FoodBlog Special Calzone. 😉

Fun Fact: Pizza Hut made one of the first online transactions in history when they sold a pizza online in August 1994.

Cuccagna

Cuccagna is serving up traditional Italian pizza with not-so-traditional ingredient combinations. This homey trattoria in Sliema is super underrated when it comes to their thin-crust pizza, and we’re certain that after a visit it will become one of your favourite Italian spots. Check out their unique Diavola, with spicy salami calabrese and red pepper. 🌶️

Il-Forn tal-Ghawdxi

We love a classic Italian pie, but Maltese-style pizza is regaining its well-deserved popularity with spots like Il-Forn tal-Ghawdxi making mouth-watering pizza. Grab their classic Pepperoni or their brand new thick, Cheesy Crust loaded pizza for something different but totally out of this world. They deliver all around the island, and if you’ve got a crowd you can pre-order their pepperoni square pizza trays for a banging deal. 🤤

Fun Fact: The average slice of pizza is 25% protein. Tell that to your gym bros!

The Oven

The Oven has always been a top spot for pizza takeaway and delivery, and never fails to provide that classic American Pepperoni slice - you can never go wrong with a pizza that ticks everyone’s boxes. Grab your box from their Mosta or St Julian’s outlets, and if you’re ordering for a crowd make sure to snag their free delivery to the central/north of Malta. 🛵

The Avenue

We will never get tired of this homey spot in the heart of Paceville - wouldn’t you agree? The Avenue is perfect if you feel like a pizza before heading out for drinks with friends, or for dinner with big groups for any kind of celebration. Check out their Al Diavolo for those pepperoni dreams with a twist - they’re bringing up the heat with green peppers, olives and chili. 🔥

Fun fact: Pepperoni is the most popular pizza topping in the U.S.
