Bored of veggies? 5 meaty bites you should hold out for! 🥩

Bored of veggies? 5 meaty bites you should hold out for! 🥩

Since lockdown last year I have taken it upon myself to be more conscientious of my meat intake - we all ought to be doing the same these days - to keep my meaty moral compass in check, I tend to restrict the amount of meat I eat at home. 🥺

So when the craving for meat comes I want to make it that more special, no matter my cravings. 🤩

Are you trying to cut down on your meat consumption?

Why not give yourself a challenge for the remainder of our mini-lockdown and keep yourself fed with some veggie dishes and reward yourself with a meal at the end of it all? 🏆

Be it a caveman-style steak and fries or a non-veggie pizza of your choice, that little bit of meat could kill those craves and keep you on track when you're back on your eco-friendly good-guy path. 😇

Here are the go-to spots I'll be heading to once the restaurants reopen, and my meaty desires kick in:

Prosciutteria, Gzira

Fausto Soldini has been changing the way we see pizza since he brought the concept of Roman pinsa to our sunny islands. 🍕

Yes, this is a pizza place, but just wait until you get a slice of their porchetta pizza. Or just check out any other one of Soldini’s champion brands. 💪

Daily Grub, Naxxar

If you’re looking for great burgers with some of the freshest ingredients this side of Naxxar, The Daily Grub is your calling. 🤙

With a menu that boasts specials from all around the world and a menu covering every meal time of the day, if you’re in the area and feeling peckish then worry not - The Daily Grub is your new best foodie friend. 😎

KuYa Asian Pub, St Julian’s

Not the first place that comes to mind when you think of good meat - but again you’ll need to try their crispy beef before arguing with us. 👀

Keep an eye out for their special sticky ribs or pork lechons, too - as legendary as they are. 🐷

Briju, Gzira

Briju have been busy making sure those more vulnerable during the COVID-19 pandemic have been kept fed. 🤤

Chef Rafel Sammut has also been very busy promoting Maltese ingredients and he’s even trained with Netflix’s Chef’s Table Head Chef Francis Mallmann. So you just know he knows what he’s doing. He might not offer delivery, but once everything is open again you’ll need to get your hands on the mysterious beef cappuccino. ☕

Chophouse, Tigne

Recently being awarded their first Michelin star, Chophouse is a no-brainer when it comes to supreme cuts prepared to absolute perfection! This one is definitely worth waiting for a proper dine-in experience. 🐄

Just picture yourself tucking into a medium-rare ribeye with a glass of red and that luscious view sitting right in front of you! We bet we know where you’ll be heading once the restaurants re-open! 💅

Who knows, we might bump into each other very soon. 🛒

But in the meantime, why not grab an order in from Meats & Eats? 🛵

These guys have everything you could possibly need to turn your kitchen at home into the kitchen at your favourite restaurant. 🧑‍🍳

And they’re available on Bolt Food and Wolt as well as their own website for all deliveries. With just a few taps of your phone screen, you’ll be well on your way to wowing your next guests (just make sure you’re following the latest guidelines, of course!). ✨
