Beach Bars: 5 of our favs you've got to visit before summer ends! 🏖️

Beach Bars: 5 of our favs you've got to visit before summer ends! 🏖️

Beach bars are a must-have on the Maltese islands - during the summer season we spend most of our free time at the beach, because there’s nothing quite better to do in the scorching heat than take a dip in the cool crashing waves and soak up some sun. ☀️

While doing all this, it’s vital that we also have a place to grab an ice-cold drink and a tasty meal or snack - I don’t know if it’s just me, but something about the sea makes me aggressively hungry. 🌊

Most locals like to pack their own beach lunches with classic hobz biz-zejt, some fruit, maybe a packet of crisps, and the odd Cisk or two in their family-sized cooler. 😎

Maybe some others pack their own lunch but head to the bar to grab an ice cream or cocktail at the end of the afternoon. However, many also enjoy taking some time out of the sun to get a few drinks at a bar or sit down for a proper meal. 🍽️

Beach bars can be anything from the snack shack that sells sandwiches and savoury bites, the ice cream stalls that we all secretly love, to the sit-down restaurant located on the beach itself. Whichever your pick is, you can’t deny that every Maltese beach needs its bars. Here are some locations that we recommend for this summer. 🔝

Zion

Located in St Thomas Bay Marsascala, this is surely Malta’s chillest beach bar. Zion gives tropical beach shack vibes with their lush garden, great music and feel-good mood. Their food menu is super summery and all-around tasty - which is all that matters to us, anyway. 🌴

Munchies

Mellieha Bay is probably the most popular and crowded beach in Malta, so it’s a good thing we have Munchies to curb our cravings whether it be for a quick sandwich, pizza, platters or a tomahawk steak. You're always up for a good time at Munchies, especially if you still down by the sea and jump right in after your meal! 🥩

Paradise Exiles Shack

The Paradise Exiles Shack is a live music bar with great taste on the rocky coast of Sliema. It’s open all day, offering Mediterranean cuisine and cocktails paired with great views of St Julian’s. Another reason we love this place is their dedication to reducing plastic use, as evidenced by their Wave of Change mural art. 🌆

Singita Miracle Beach

Breakfast at Singita means a trendy, fresh and cool açai bowl - perfect for the summer heat. If you’re not up for that, snatch a table in the evening to experience a gorgeous Ghajn Tuffieha ocean sunset paired with a tasty meal. If you're lucky, you'll even catch the sunset as your food arrives. 🌇

Ray’s Kitchen (Sliema Pitch)

Sliema Pitch is an all-time favourite summer location for jumping into the icy seawater and basking in the sun. What makes all this an even better experience is the excellent kitchen - this beach restaurant is always packed for lunch, because who doesn’t enjoy an amazing meal paired with a fresh sea breeze? 🍃
