One of the biggest steps you can take as a consumer is the leap of faith from pre-packaged goods to wholesale or "by weight". But just where in Malta is that option available?
Usually priced slightly cheaper than your normal goods from the aisles you're used to, some supermarkets will even let you use your own containers. Yes, there really is more to wholesale than just grabbing those huge bags of tomatoes from Greens.
And yes Roberta Metsola, it is hobz biz-zejt season. It is always hobz biz-zejt season.
But on the topic of Greens, if you've not made use of their #BYOC (that's Bring Your Own Container to all boomers) yet but plan to once they bring it back. You're gonna have to add this to your list of exciting thrills one experiences as part of adulting.
Back on topic: wholesale.
If you ever find yourself wishing you could have a breakfast bowl as adventurous as that one you had last week at Java in Naxxar every morning, fulfil your destiny and get Good Earth to take care of your grains, cereals, seeds and anything else under the (healthy) kitchen sink.

Other than that, if you like your fish as fresh as it can get then of course you can always count on ol' Rita's or Azzopardi Fisheries. Both of these local businesses work together in providing many of Malta's own restaurants with fresh fish daily, so you can absolutely depend on them for respectable quality.
And don't forget... you can always cut back on your impact by ordering online - just fire up your delivery app of choice and have all your wholesale good delivered right to your door... but seriously, guys, let's all start shopping a little more sustainably, mmkay?
