I’m not the fancy kind of person, especially when I’m eating. I like to feel comfortable, wear what I feel like, and eat as freely as I can. So whenever I’m looking for a place to eat, I like to go for chill spots that serve amazing food but still make me feel at home. 😌
If you’re looking for a good place to eat but you still want to go in your jeans and sneakers, here are my top favourite places:
Bianca’s
This is one of my favourite local eating spots. The atmosphere is fun, even when there isn’t any live music going on. The food is fresh and delicious and the people working at Bianca’s are super friendly, including Bianca the parrot! 🦜
Naar Restobar
Although this place is a bit fancier than the others, it’s the kind of place where you can show up wearing fancy clothes or a pair of jeans and a hoodie, and you’ll still feel welcome. Apart from that, their menu is super vast (and super delicious). 😋
Summer Nights Pub & Grill
Right in the heart of Marsascala, Summer Nights Pub & Grill is perfect for a chill meal, any time of day. This place serves generous portions of great food, which you can enjoy with gorgeous views of the sea. 🌊
Bongo Nyah
This hip and cosy eatery in Marsascala is great for any time of year. Bongo Nyah caters for anyone, whether they’re looking for a healthy dish or a juicy homemade burger, or they’re in the mood for cocktails and tapas. 🍹
Burgers.Ink
I love any creation by Chef Daniel Grech, to be quite honest, but Burgers.Ink is one of my favourites. The burgers are out of this world, and the newly added grilled pizzas are mouth-watering! 🍕
Supernova Heights
I’ve been going to this place since I was a little gremlin. Their pizza is one of my favourites on the islands and their ribeye is perfectly grilled and seasoned. Supernova Heights is located in the gorgeous Kalkara and has ultimate rock ‘n’ roll vibes. 🤘
Zion Reggae Bar
Located right in front of St Thomas Bay in Marsascala, Zion Reggae Bar is the perfect place for a relaxing night out. The atmosphere is super chill, the location is away from the busy city centre, and the food is super. 🤩
Danny's
Danny’s is home to wholesome, good food. Just by looking at their menu, you can see that their dishes are made from the freshest of ingredients. They serve some killer burgers and hearty meals but they’re also super serious when it comes to their healthy food - you won’t find a typical boring lettuce and tomato salad here! 🥗
GENKI
Their St Julian’s and Ta’Xbiex hubs serve up rice, seafood, soup, chicken, pork, sushi - you name it, they have it. For a restaurant that has such a vast menu, Genki's dishes are pretty impressive. Our top picks from their menu would be, the Chicken Katsu Curry, the salmon poke bowl (below) & the Beef Teriyaki noodles. Oh, and their Sushi is so delicious, it deserves a notable mention.
