Burgers, tapas, brownies what more do you want from Bianca’s? 🦜
Well before the world turned upside down, Bianca’s on The Strand was getting plenty of attention and rightly so. Maybe for their talking parrot Bianca, or maybe for their tantalising food. You can be the judge there.
It’s a cheat-day paradise - so naturally, we had to swing by and put into words what beautiful Instagram shots can’t. We knew from the get-go that this place doesn’t fool around but boy oh boy, we didn’t expect it to be that good! So where to start?
We love an establishment that takes hygiene seriously and this place does exactly that with outdoor seating and sanitisers. Scan their QR code and voila! You’ve got the menu on your phone. From burgers and nachos to salads and tapas. Anything somewhat American-style, they’ve got it and they do it well. 🇺🇸
Not in the mood to eat? That’s fine too, especially when they’ve got a happy hour every day of the week. But let’s not stray away from the major point: food. 🙌
The service was extremely fast and friendly. Within 10 minutes two burgers the size of a human head were placed right before our eyes. Not going to lie. It took a minute to establish a plan of execution: how to hold them, how to bite them, how to digest them.
My words can’t do these burgers justice but I’ll try my best.
Both of the buns were glistening in the light as if they had a make-up artist slather them in highlighter. The generous chicken patty was overwhelming in the best kind of way. As you take your first bite so many thoughts run through your head like: “how is it possible to have such a crispy batter but also have the chicken melt in your mouth?” It definitely puts big fired chicken names to shame and doesn’t have that sloppy factor. 🍗
As for the bacon cheeseburger, we need a moment of silence to appreciate just how flavourful a single bite is. Sometimes burger places just don’t know how to perfect the beef to bacon combo but Bianca’s know what’s up. They’re not stingy when it comes to the bacon and they know how to perfectly crisp it. That single bite first has your lips meet that tender patty and then hits you with that bacon flavour. The only thing to mention is that it can get a bit ‘drippy’ with juices but that’s in the terms and conditions when you order a burger, so can’t really complain. 🍔
But the artistry doesn’t stop there. We know all too well the heartbreak of reaching for that french fry bursting with excitement only to have it all come crashing down when you realise how soggy and unsalted it is. I can reassure you that nothing came crashing down at Bianca's... Normal Fries, Cheesy Fries, Chilli Fries, the world is your oyster here! 🍟
Now fries are great but what takes them to the next level is the sauce. At Bianca’s, they offer a number of homemade sauces but let me tell you, that curry sauce was just 🤤.
We genuinely contemplated asking if we could take some home.
We have to come clean, buttons were undone after this but there’s no shame in that when you’re just making room for dessert. The White Chocolate Brownie needs a review of its own. A brief mention here doesn’t do it justice. It’s like nothing you’ve ever eaten before. Served warm, hard on the outside but as your spoon hits the inside the brownie feels like a pillow in your mouth. Did I mention it’s flourless? Gluten-avoiders rejoice!
Just glancing at the menu, you can immediately tell it’s inclusive. Boasting numerous flourless and vegan options, no one is left out here. So no excuses! Treat yo’ self and help a local business out. You won’t regret it, and if you’re lucky, maybe the famous Bianca will send you off with a ‘goodnight’! 🦜
