Bandit bustin’ some banging burgers! Here’s our all-time favs 🍔
Bandit in Hamrun have been wowing us foodies for a good few years now. Whether it was mashing up a pack of Krips and a chicken burger or filling nuggets with pulled pork, the team at Bandit have been pulling out all the stops.
Which is why we feel they deserve a little FoodBlog love 🧡
First up on the legendary journey: their latest and greatest venture into the world of chicken strips 👀
No, your eyes are not deceiving you. That is, indeed, a po dog with cheesy Dorito-crusted chicken tendies lining a bun with plenty of pickles. F*** yeah. 😎
But let’s take a look at the burgers that came before... 🍴
The Donut Burger
Bandit hit a home-run with their early foray into sensationalist foods. If you missed out on this, you missed out on absolute carnage in the best way possible. 🍩
This bad boy of a burger tucked itself in between two sugared donuts, topped with cheese and bacon with a dollop of ketchup to fill the doughnut hole. 😍 This was one messy mouthful, but definitely worth every sugar-coated bite.
And they’re back on the menu to kickstart 2021 by running rings around the rest of Malta’s burger joints 🥳
No, this is not a drill, the Donut Burger is back in both chicken and beef iterations. These burgers really pair well with a side of iykyk. 😏
The Krips Chicken Burger
This one was a personal favourite, mainly because I think Krips are a step above Twistees. 💅
But imagine a buttermilk chicken burger. 💭 Sounds good, right? Now, imagine if that chicken was coated in a crispy shell of crushed Salt & Vinegar Krips. A crispy-crunchy match made in flavourful heaven. 🤤
If you’ve ever used tortilla chips to coat your chicken, you’ll know the kinda crunch we’re referring to here. 💥
The Figolla ‘Burger’
Technically not a real burger, but Bandit took Easter feasting to a whole new level when they launched their figolla dessert bun. 🐰
A golden toasted hot cross bun filled with figolla ice cream, mini eggs, deep-fried Cadbury eggs and Nutella. Can you hear that? It’s the Fat Lady singing. 🎶
The Mac & Cheese Burger
Mac and cheese can do no wrong when added to foods and topping a burger with a fritter of the stuff is Einstein-level genius. 🤓
The Jameson Whiskey Burger
Whiskey is a wondrous drink. It is never your friend come the following morning, when you would usually find yourself on the hunt for a juicy bite to cure your upset stomach. 🥴
Bandit quite literally took the hair of the dog that would have bitten you the night before and stirred it into their onion jam, paired it with their signature bacon slabs and cut through it all with a classic sliced pickle for this burger bomb. 🍻
The (un)Holy Trinity
This juicy stack is a foodie’s dream come true. 😱
Beef, chicken and bacon. What more could you ask for from this Bandit menu staple? A simple step over the point of no return, this burger is for serious eaters only. 😏
The Don
Named aptly for being an absolute don of a burger, this baby hosted a family of mozzarella sticks, spiced pepperoni, in-house pesto-mayonnaise, cheese (of course 💁♀️) snugly within a garlic bun.
The 2019 Halloween Special
Sounds like an episode straight out of Epic Meal Time, right? 👀
Well, when you think about it: charcoal buns, BBQ mayo, jalapeño poppers and spicy sauce on a burger does sound crazy. But it was oh-so-glorious and perfect for scaring the zombies away. 🧟♂️
The Maltese Beauty
Matching the beauty of Maltese food and culture with everyone’s favourite (burgers, duh) to round out the finale of 2020 was probably one of Bandit’s best ideas yet. 👌
After the year we’ve all had, I think we deserve to eat a little irresponsibly - think Maltese sausage patty topped with a fig and Bajtra Liqueur jam, deep fried gbejna on a bed of peppery rucola. We hope you got a chance to try this monster! 👋
Bandit have not stopped impressing us since they opened back in 2019
And that means we didn’t have long to wait for a meaty start to 2021! As 2020 sang its goodbyes the Bandit crew rang in the new year on a fab collab with yours truly, the FoodBlog Fam:
