21 for 2021 Part 2: FoodBlog’s Official 2021 Must-Visit Restaurants 🌟

You thought we were done? Sheesh… 🤦‍♀️

Yes, we know we already gave you our list for the Top 21 Restaurants to visit this year; but here at FoodBlog, we love our followers so much that we couldn’t sit around and let you miss out on the favourites that didn’t make it into the first list. So here’s the second part of your #foodiebucketlist, just because you deserve it. 😍

Rebekah’s, Mellieha, Malta

Rebekah’s is a truly elegant dining spot with a tranquil and charming atmosphere, set in a house of character in Mellieha. With the slogan ‘honouring nature’, Rebekah’s is all about turning local fresh produce into stunning dishes. 🌿

BeefBar, Bugibba, Malta

BeefBar is reopening on the 1st of March, but we recommend giving them a visit once the weather gets a bit warmer, so you get the full experience: hit the pool, soak up the sun, grab some drinks and eat some really fine food. 🥩

Wagyu, Valletta, Malta

Having just recently opened, Chef Daniel Grech’s latest endeavor is an Asian-style bar and kitchen serving up everything from sushi to ramen to Wagyu beef and lobster. 🍜  Wagyu is an ambient location with mouth-watering food and excellent service.

Two Buoys, Spinola, St Julian’s, Malta

This bright spot in Spinola is all the craze. Serving amazing breakfast, mouth-watering dessert and everything in between, Two Buoys is a Maltese-Aussie 🇦🇺 medley that you’re sure to enjoy.

Grotto Tavern, Rabat, Malta

When you’re dining in a literal cave, the ambience is unmatched with anything you’ve experienced before. 🔥 At Grotto Tavern, you get Mediterranean cuisine made modern; in a fine-dining concept that’s more on the casual side.

Terrone, Marsaxlokk, Malta

There’s no doubt that the fishing village of Marsaxlokk is home to some of the best seafood restaurants on the island. Terrone is one of those select locations, and having been awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand, we’re certain that it’s not just another fish in the sea. 🐠

Tartarun, Marsaxlokk, Malta

Another gem located in Marsaxlokk, and added to the Michelin Guide is Tartarun, where the local catch is turned into something magical. With a menu that takes traditional ideas and fills them with flair, it’s a classy dining experience where the seafood is the star. 🌟

Seafood Market, Ta’ Xbiex, Malta

Both a fish market and an incredible restaurant; you might want to take a second look the next time you drive by this spot. The Seafood Market makes some of the island’s best ocean dishes, with freshness that’s unmatched and flavour that’s divine. 🦐

Blue Elephant, Hilton, St Julian’s, Malta

Blue Elephant at the Hilton has stood the test of time, and continues to be a location for top-quality Thai cuisine. 🇹🇭 The staff will make you feel like royalty, and the ambience puts you in the perfect mood for the cuisine at hand.

Stanjata Cafe, Birkirkara, Malta

A glimpse at this location might make you think it’s just a regular old cafe, but the truth is Stanjata is truly special. The food is mostly plain and simple, but it’s outrageously good, and at the end of the day that’s all you need to make your way into the FoodBlog hall of fame. 📸

Black Egg, Ta’ Xbiex, Malta

The Black Egg is a brand-new but already famous all-day brunch spot for something more than your standard toast. Head over to the Ta’ Xbiex seafront and try out their signature dish The Black Egg (literally!). 🥚

Sotto, Valletta, Malta

Probably the most famous pizza spot in the capital, Sotto Pizzeria saw the pinsa Romana 🍕 make its Maltese debut, and we haven’t looked back since. Sotto is casual, relaxed and will make you feel right at home - it’s the perfect spot for any kind of gathering.

Da Pippo, Valletta, Malta

When you’re up for lunch with company, there’s only one place to go in Valletta. It’s renowned by all and for good reason - great food, excellent service, and one-of-a kind ambience. Da Pippo Trattoria is all about the vibe.

Sale e Pepe, Portomaso Marina, St Julian’s Malta

There’s nothing that’s not to love about an Italian eatery with simple but top-quality food, and Sale e Pepe has always been just that. Located at the Portomaso Marina, it’s the ideal place for a casual dinner with a picturesque view. 🍝

Peperoncino, Balluta, St Julian’s, Malta

Not enough people know about this Maltese-Sicilian eatery in St Julian’s - which is totally a shame. Situated in an old townhouse with views of Balluta Bay, Peperonicno is all about hospitality, service and tradition. 🌶️

Bianca’s, Gzira, Malta

Bianca’s on the Gzira seafront is your one-stop shop for killer wings, bomb burgers, and damn good dawgs. 🍔 It’s the perfect place to catch the next game and have a few drinks with your friends.

Commando, Mellieha, Malta

Commando restaurant in Mellieha is cosy, charming and age-old. One of just three restaurants to be awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand, the food is exquisite yet affordable; and the star is definitely their ultra classy brunch menu. 🥞

KuYa, St Julian’s, Malta

Walking down a staircase into KuYa Pub, what you find is the unexpected. With a Japenese-Thai street food menu born after scouring a continent for flavours, what started as a food truck soon became one of the most sought-after dining experiences on the island, earning themselves a Michelin Guide mention.

Zest, St Julian’s, Malta

Serving up sushi and other tasty dishes like bao buns, noodles and curries; Zest is the perfect location for an Asian fusion meal at their St Julian’s location, takeaway lunch on the go, or speedy delivery. 🥟

Zero Sei, Valletta, Malta

This underground pasta heaven is always jam-packed with hungry patrons and it isn’t hard to see why. Fausto Soldini deserved not one but two mentions in this list with his unbeatable authentic Roman trattoria. 🇮🇹

Naan Bar

Presenting a more refined side of the cuisine, Naan Bar is not your usual location for Indian food. 🇮🇳 It’s perfect for when you’re really in the mood for curry and naan, but want a modern dining experience.
