The Ultimate FoodBlog Bucket List: October 🎃

The Ultimate FoodBlog Bucket List: October 🎃

My time is finally here. The weather is getting cooler, we can eat soup without feeling judged, we’re closer to sleeping with a huge blanket, it will not feel like hell when you switch on the oven, and Halloween is just around the corner! 🎃

Get ready for soup season

AKA one of the best seasons ever. If you love soup, get stocking! Buy a bunch of your favourite veggies and freeze them, especially if they’re going out of season soon. 🥣

Gather some different veggies that you need for a particular recipe and freeze them together in one container or bag - this will make things so much easier for you. 🍲

When you feel like making that particular soup, all you need to do is take that bag out and cook the contents in a pot of water. Season, spice, blend and you’re all set! ✌️

Have an Italian night in

As the weather starts to get cooler, the atmosphere starts to get cosier and staying in starts to look more appealing. Let’s face it, nights in are not complete without take-out. 🤷

Some of the most comforting dishes include pasta in a rich sauce or maybe even a pizza. Nobody does those things better than the Italians. 🍝

So pick a fun movie, grab your phone, and order take-away from any of the restaurants from the Zero Sei family. That way you’re guaranteed a truly Italian experience! A Roman pinsa or an authentic carbonara are the perfect meals for your night in. 😋

Host a halloween food party

October means one thing: it’s halloween month! Gather a few of your favourite people, invite them over and have a halloween party! You obviously cannot forget about the food though. 👻

Food at a halloween party has to be accordingly themed and there’s such a gorgeous list of halloween-themed food for you to make. 😍

Jalapeno popper mummies, bat biscuits, pumpkin-like devilled eggs, sausage fingers, meatballs that look like spiders, eyeball cake pops, graveyard muffins - take your pick and get cooking! 🍳

Dine at the Valletta Waterfront

The Valletta Waterfront is the perfect spot for food at any time of day. They’ve got restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner - 12 restaurants, to be exact! 💪

Evenings also come alive with live entertainment and sometimes even fun things for the kiddos, so everyone can have fun here. Pick your cuisine, book a table, and have a great night! 🥳

Attend a cooking class at the MCA

The Mediterranean Culinary Academy hosts a number of amazing classes, workshops and events related to cooking and food in general. 🤩

Recently, they even teamed up with the legendary Fausto Soldini from the Zero Sei group to give out workshops on how to cook some killer Italian dishes, like the carbonara and amatriciana. 🤤

These might be sold out at the moment, but they’ve got so many other classes to choose from! Couples cooking classes, Wellington Workshop, butchery classes, and even the famous Branch to Bottle event, which is all about the making of olive oil. 👌

Make this Grapefruit Yoghurt Cake

Now that grapefruits are in season, it’s time to put them to good use. A cake sounds like just the right thing for the month of October! 🍰

Grapefruits tend to taste pretty bitter, so you will need something to balance that out. This Grapefruit Yoghurt Cake includes Greek yoghurt that helps to tone down the bitterness. It also makes the cake soft and fluffy! 🙌
