No tricks just treats. Local eateries serve spooky specials! 🎃

No tricks just treats. Local eateries serve spooky specials! 🎃

October means just one thing: it’s time for Halloween! It might not be the right time to go around trick or treating, but it’s always the right time for a good treat.

We’ve gathered a list of local eateries that are kicking things up a notch with their Halloween specials, so if you’re looking for a treat, you’ll know where to go.

Carolina’s Petit Cafe

To satisfy your sweet tooth this Halloween, Carolina’s Petit Cafe are serving these gorgeous Pumpkin Iced Biscuits. They’ve recently opened a brand new cafe bang in the centre of Sliema, so these biscuits would be the perfect excuse to visit their new space.

Pastarella

If you’re looking for a killer pasta dish, just head over to this local food truck. Pastarella have come up with a whole set of halloween specials: black spaghetti, sweet potato gnocchi, a Halloween burger, and another two Halloween dishes just for the kiddos.

JAR

For a delicious dessert in the form of a thick, creamy milkshake, check out JAR’s latest creation just for Halloween. The Halloween JAR Shake comes topped with a whole doughnut, a drizzle of chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and Oreos on the side. Because why not?

Planet Hollywood

Planet Hollywood is hosting an entire 5-day event for Halloween: 5 Days of Fun Frights. You can dine in a frightful ambience, fully decorated for the event, while watching a spooky movie until this Sunday. All movies are suitable for the little ones, so it’s a great family outing.

INA’s

This local dessert parlour is bringing the spooky spirit to Carob Tree in Spinola Park. INA’s is serving up some delicious treats that will send chills down your spine! Whether you want to share with others or down these all by yourself is entirely up to you.

Manouche Craft Bakery & Bistro

Halloween reminds us of one specific local treat: Ghadam tal-Mejtin. We like to think of these as the figolli of winter and there’s no better place to have this local delicacy than Manouche. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, these bones are perfect with a good cuppa.

Marelli

Their food is so good, it makes you go “il-marelli!”. For the spooky season, Marelli has got our hearts pump-kin with some pumpkin-based dishes. The mini arancini with brie and pumpkin and the pumpkin spice cheesecake bars are to die for!

What do your taste buds fancy this weekend?

We hope we’ve lifted your spirits and given you some great ideas for a hauntingly delicious evening this Halloween. If you’re staying home, you can always get a spook-tacular meal delivered to your door. Whatever you choose to do, make sure to stay safe, and bone appetite!
