Micro Baker, “The Good Stuff” wins the #FoodBlogPinkOctober challenge 🎀

Micro Baker, “The Good Stuff” wins the #FoodBlogPinkOctober challenge 🎀

This October, the team at FoodBlog launched an awareness campaign in aid of Pink October. We came up with #FoodBlogPinkOctober for two sole reasons;

  1. We wanted to help spread breast cancer awareness through pink food, anything pink… whether it is a triple layered cake or a pomegranate doughnut, it doesn’t matter, it’s the colour that counts.
  2. We wanted to help bring people together, in a fun, creative way while stuck at home during this pandemic. #StaySafe

How did the contestants take part?

We launched the Pink October campaign on the 1st of October, on our social media platforms (both Instagram & Facebook).

The rules were simple:

  1. Bake any pink dessert.
  2. Take a photo of your pink dessert.
  3. Upload it to your Instagram & Facebook feed.
  4. Use the hashtag #FoodBlogPinkOctober and tag @foodblog.mt in your caption.

The most liked post by the end of the month, today the 31st of October will win a prize worth €500 to promote their local business on FoodBlog’s platforms. We are always working hard and doing our best to #SupportLocal, so this was our way of giving back to our foodie community In these tough times, with a good cause! 😍

What was the feedback like?

Within the first couple of days the #FoodBlogPinkOctober hashtag already had 10 new entries; ranging from the following pink delights from our foodie followers:

The Winning Entry to the #FoodBlogPinkOctober Campaign

However as I’m sure you’ve all been eager to find out, the winning entry was submitted late in the month (27th), by the well-known baker @thegoodstuffmalta on Instagram. The talented baker from this micro-bakery decided to conjure up something quite remarkable with her chocolate sourdough doughnuts stuffed with pomegranate molasses and rose-flavoured brown sugar meringue! You can close your mouth and stop drooling now… it’s slightly rude, but we forgive you… 😜

JUST. LOOK. AT. THIS.

@THEGOODSTUFFMALTA

She managed to achieve a whopping 500 likes on Instagram in just 4 days, pushing her up the ladder to the pole position above @apronandwhisk & @mca_malta (2nd and 3rd respectively) 🏆

The Good Stuff is a little micro-baker in Malta, serving up probably the best sourdough bread you can find on the island. Her focus is mainly on sourdough, using different flours and long fermentation times to test out new products. You can even try it for yourself from one of these stores:

Check out some of @thegoodstuffmalta’s delicious loaves down below:
