Breaking News: iconic Ta Rita restaurant set to turn into a guesthouse🏨

End of an era for Ta’ Rita Lapsi View in the limits of Siggiewi.

Ta’ Rita in Ghar Lapsi, the limits of Siggiewi has been serving satisfaction with a side of breathtaking views for many years now. But a breath of fresh air is soon to breathe over the Ghar Lapsi site. 🌅

The iconic blue walls nestled beside the cliffside of Ghar Lapsi have been a staple to the coastline since it was opened in the 1930s as a bar to pull in British servicemen in Malta at the time. 🇬🇧⛵

The restaurant itself was later built in the 1950s 🧑‍🍳

The overhaul comes as an end to a year-long revision plan for the original building and will see accommodation facilities added to the first-floor addition just a bit taller than it already is. 🏛️

Known for their fenek and ftira, everyone has a memory of visiting Ta’ Rita Lapsi at least once in their life. 🤤

Maltese Style Rabbit - 'Fenek' from Ta Rita Lapsi View

The sound of the waves crashing below as you start the five-minute stroll from the doors to your car, weighed down by the burden of a very hearty meal - nothing compares to the bliss of nature when you’re waiting for the call of nature on a Sunday morning. 😏

Have you ever been to Ta' Rita?

The interior is also just one big hit of nostalgia. 🤩 (Check out the post caption too!)

And being one of the few spots you can spot Filfla from, the upgrade from simple restaurant to lavish guesthouse doesn’t sound so bad when you start to imagine waking up to a view of Malta’s tiniest island in the archipelago saying “hello”. 😍

When the final touches are complete, we’ll be the first to let you know - but for now, be sure to head down to Ta’ Rita for one last taste of the good old days before we get to see the future of nostalgia. ✨
