20 McDonald’s Menu items across the globe we wish we could try! 👀
McDonald’s is unarguably a favourite here on the Maltese islands, with 9 locations serving over 10,000 people a day! They’ve also finally teamed up with Bolt and Wolt for delivery - something we've all been wanting for ages.
Around the world, the McDonald’s Menu varies quite significantly, making ours look a little bleak (apart from the occasional limited-time specials). Here are some menu items from other countries that we’d love to get a taste of.
1. Poutine - Canada
The Canadians know just how to upgrade the humble fry by drenching it in gravy and cheese curds, and the local McDonald’s obviously couldn’t resist making this national staple a menu item. 🇨🇦
2. BBQ McRib - Spain
Now we know that this saucy BBQ creation made it to our shores, but we really think it deserves a shoutout as a special edition classic that we wouldn't mind having as a regular. 🙏
3. Frozen Coke - Australia and New Zealand
Coke and a number of other flavours make for delish slushies as a perfect addition to your hot summer day’s takeout. 🥤
4. Big Brekkie Burger - Australia and New Zealand
This beef burger is topped with all your breakfast dreams - bacon, egg, cheese, and a hash brown. 🥓
5. McKroket - Netherlands and Belgium
The McKroket replaces a burger with a deep fried roll of beef ragout, and whilst I don’t know exactly what that is, it looks incredible. 🤤
6. Nutella Burger - Italy
It has got to be Italy to put Nutella in everything - even McDonald’s burger buns. TBH, we’re not complaining. This one’s called the Sweety con Nutella. 🍫
7. Chili Cheese Tops - Norway
These fried parcels are oozing with cheese and filled with jalapeno pieces for a spicy kick. 🌶️
8. McVegan/Big Vegan TS - Finland, Sweden and Germany
These are two variants of the McDonald’s burger that are 100% vegan. We know the vegans and vegetarians of the world would adore having this available to them! For those who don’t, at least the heavenly apple pies pass the test. 🥦
9. McShrimp - Russia
If these were available here I would order them Every. Single. Time. Curly fries are the best form of fries and you’re welcome to fight me if you disagree. 🍟

11. McSpicy Paneer - India
Since India’s population is largely vegetarian, McDonald’s India has tonnes of meatless options. One is the McSpicy Paneer, featuring a crispy breaded slab of paneer cheese. 🧀
12. Black and white Burgers - China, Hong Kong and Taiwan
These are mini burgers that come as a combo - filled with pork and chicken respectively. I doubt they taste any different to regular burgers, but the buns just look so cool. 🍔
13. Deluxe Shrimp Burger - Japan, South Korea and Singapore
Yet again McDonald’s takes a go at shrimps - this time making a whole breaded patty out of them - and while my mind is telling me no, my body is definitely telling me yes. Ask for the Ebi Filet-O.🦐
14. Matcha McFlurry - Japan
Matcha (green tea powder) is super trendy right now, but in most of Asia it’s quite the norm to consume matcha-flavoured products. This McFlurry also includes Oreo bits and can be ordered with red bean paste on top, which is another staple in Asian desserts. 🍵
15. Chicken McDo with Spaghetti - Philippines
If you don’t know how to feel about this, you’re not alone. 🍝
16. Churros - South Korea
In South Korea you can pair your morning coffee with a crispy churro and chocolate dipping sauce. Many McDonald’s locations also serve ‘donut sticks’ which are basically churros in disguise. 🇰🇷
17. Mega Mac - Korea, Malaysia, Turkey, and United Arab Emirates
This quadruple-patty Big Mac is just what we need when the hunger kicks in at 3am after a night out. 😍
18. McArabia - Saudi Arabia and Pakistan
The McArabia replaces burger buns with a pita pocket and comes with 2 beef or chicken patties. 🤤
19. Rainbow Burger - Greece
Launched in celebration of Colour Day Festival 2019, McD's Greece serve up 2 colourful burgers tinted with paprika, beetroot and turmeric for that cute finish. Each are served with crispy onions and BBQ sauce; the pink beef burger also comes with a slice of melty cheese... score! 🌈
20. McMollettes - Mexico
These mini open-faced sandwiches are the cutest little side to your dish, featuring refried beans, cheese and salsa. 🇲🇽
