Weird Food Combos that actually Taste Good 🀫

Weird Food Combos that actually Taste Good 🀫

We all have a secret guilty pleasure when it comes to food combinations (I have two, actually - the first two in this list), and if you say that you don't, you're either lying or you're unaware that other people may find your favourite food combo weird. 🀫

In fact, weird food combos are so common that there's a whole list of them:

Crisps sandwich

This is my ultimate favourite weird food combination in the world. Specifically using sliced white bread, butter, and Crix. Twistees and salted crisps also taste great, but Crix will always have a piece of my heart. πŸ₯ͺ

Fries & ice cream

The first time I tried fries dipped in caramel sundae at McDonald's was the day my taste buds levelled up. Vanilla ice cream and salty fries have the perfect sweet-savoury balance. 🍦

Peanut butter in a burger

It's even better if it's crunchy peanut butter! Peanut butter is not a super sweet ingredient and it gives a great crunch when you're biting into a burger - just think of it as a different version of satay beef! πŸ”

Peanut butter & onions

If you've had Amsterdam's popular fries with peanut sauce and onions, you know what I'm talking about here. The zing from the onions and the nutty flavour of the peanut butter are just amazing together! πŸ§…

Scrambled eggs & jam

Just like putting ketchup on scrambled eggs is a thing, adding jam can also become the next popular food combo. Both jam and ketchup have a sweet yet acidic taste, so there's no reason why jam wouldn't taste great with scrambled eggs! 🍳

Strawberries & balsamic vinegar

Speaking about sweet and acidic, I think combining strawberries with balsamic vinegar is more popular than it seems. The tangy vinegar combined with the sweet strawberries is a great feast for your taste buds. πŸ“

Ice cream & soy sauce

Just like ice cream goes WONDERFULLY with salty fries, an extra dash of saltiness with vanilla ice cream has proved to be popular with foodies around the world. It may not be the first thing that comes into mind when you think of delicious food, but you just have to try it out. 🍨

Salted popcorn & ketchup

I like to think of this as being similar to fries with ketchup, but slightly healthier (sort of). A dash of ketchup adds a great kick to your popcorn. Try it out for your next movie night! 🍿

Toast with butter & sugar

When I felt like a sweet snack and I didn't know what to eat, my partner shared his favourite childhood snack with me: buttered toast sprinkled with white sugar. The best thing about this, apart from the sweet and savoury combo, is that the sugar doesn't melt all the way through so there's still that crunchy element. 🍞

Fish fingers & custard

Where my fellow Whovians at? The first time I heard of this combination was in an episode of Doctor Who and even then, it sounded like the best comfort food. If fish fingers and custard (the British kind) is too much for you, at least make sure to try fish fingers with salad cream - out of this world! πŸ˜‹
