The Ultimate FoodBlog Bucket List: August β˜€οΈ

The Ultimate FoodBlog Bucket List: August β˜€οΈ

I still remember writing last year's bucket list for August and wondering what to do for Santa Maria. 2022 will be over in less than 5 months! 😱

We don't have any time to waste, my dear foodies. There are so many things to do and so little time. Check out a few things you can do this month:

Visit Sotto in St. Julian's

If you haven't tried the new Sotto Pinseria in St. Julian's yet, you are seriously missing out. The place looks gorgeous, but obviously, it also serves incredible food. Not only do they serve their famous authentic pinsa Romana, but they also have a number of delicious starters that you NEED to try. You can read more about Sotto in St. Julian's and their amazing food here. 🀀

Plan a food holiday

I'm sure I am not the only one (or at least I hope so), but whenever I book a holiday, the first thing I research is food. Whether it's restaurants in the area, typical street food, or traditional meals, my holidays tend to include a lot of food. So can you imagine how fun it would be to plan an entire holiday around food? 😍

Visit a different restaurant or try out something new every day, discover new dishes, learn about the famous chefs of that particular country, dine with a local… I cannot wait to plan my next holiday! πŸ‘Œ

Have a BYOF night

…Which stands for β€˜bring your own food’. And by that, I mean meeting up with friends or asking them to come over to your house and everyone has to bring some type of food that they made themselves for everyone to enjoy (including the host!). It could be a dip, a platter, dessert, pizza, or even a cocktail, but it has to be homemade. πŸ˜‹

If you think people will fight over what to pick, write the options down and have a random draw - double fun! 😏

Visit a new restaurant for Santa Maria

The Santa Maria feast is probably one of the most awaited holidays of the year in Malta because a lot of people tend to have time off from work. This is the perfect excuse to head somewhere lovely and make the most of it. We'll be publishing a list of restaurants that deserve a visit, so keep an eye out! ✌️

Otherwise, if you're more of the 'relaxed' type, pack a picnic or order takeout and go somewhere where you can watch the fireworks. πŸŽ†

Organise a boat day

With summer being close to an end (thankfully for me), you need to make the most out of the remaining days. Find a nice boat to rent, grab a few friends and have yourself a fun boat day! But don't forget about the food, of course. If you don't want to make your own, check out Emily Grimaud's All A-Boat the Food menu specifically for hassle-free boat days! β›΅

Check out Chef OpenAir

I am always on the lookout for food-related events in Malta, and lucky for me (and maybe you, too πŸ‘€), I came across Chef OpenAir a few days ago.

Four Monday nights in August will see four different chefs take over Tigne Beach Club and cook in the open air. Chef Rafel Sammut, Chef Sam Kamina, Chef Nick Diacono, and Chef Sam Farrugia are ready to make our Monday nights in August much better! 🀩

What are your plans for this August? Let us know in the comments! πŸ‘‡
