Facts: the best Ramen dishes to try this Winter 🍜

It’s cold outside. You’ve just arrived home from work with a craving for something warm that can be prepared in less than fifteen minutes. Soup is too complex, and you really need to stop ordering Chinese takeout every single week. What tasty meal is good enough to clear all your problems away? It’s ramen.

Here are my top 5 ramen recipes I just can’t say no to, no matter the time or day. Proceed with caution: once you try this Asian dish, you’ll find it difficult to choose any other noodle-based food over ramen in the future.

Classic Chicken Ramen

You can hardly go wrong with this timeless ramen dish. Consisting of seasoned broth, pulled chicken pieces, spring onions, carrots and a hard-boiled egg cut in half, this ramen dish is warming, nutritious and just delicious (if seasoned well). When making this dish, I always like to add some hot chilli flakes, lemon juice, extra soy sauce, plenty of salt and a whole lot of ginger powder. Tempted? 🍜

Fresh Seafood Ramen

There’s no right or wrong when it comes to picking the right ingredients for your seafood ramen. However, shrimp and prawn really work well with this type of food. Don’t have any of these? Take your leftover lampuka, grill it and cut in small chunks instead - it’ll still taste really good. Adding in spring onions, garlic powder, lemon zest and ginger will really bring in all the good flavours together. 🐟

Are you a Ramen Lover?

Easy Breakfast Ramen

This ramen recipe is made without broth. The noodles are typically brought together with egg and soy sauce and minimal seasoning needed (salt and pepper will do). Once placed on a plate, chunks of sautéed mushrooms, fried bacon and egg are placed on top. Sprinkling some sesame seeds to make this dish even more fun. 🍲

Savoury Vegan Ramen

It’s no secret that most typical Asian dishes contain a lot of vegetables. You don’t have to only eat vegan food to appreciate the goodness of vegetables - and this ramen recipe happens to be perfect for anybody who happens to love plant-based ramen as much as I do! To stick to the Asian theme, this dish is typically cooked with a lot of edamame. Vegetable broth, mushrooms, carrots, red peppers, tofu are lemon or lime juice also added in. Yummy! 🥦

Creamy Ramen Noodles

Move away from your typical noodle broth and replace it with cream and buttermilk instead. You can use any type of ingredients as a base for this type of broth - from chicken to beef or tofu. When it comes to vegetables, mushrooms and onions really tend to compliment the cream. 🥛
