Farsons Green Hop IPA - the King of Versatility! A FoodBlog favourite!šŸ»

The weather might be getting colder, and here at FoodBlog we know just what to turn to... a good old Farsons Classic Brews! Whether it's a Blue Label, Double Red or a Green Hop IPA, you've always got a winner by your side!

Today's star is the Farsons Green Hop IPA - an India Pale Ale that we'll relish any day of the week! šŸŗ

FoodBlog Fun Fact: Did you know that Farsons Classic Brews are meant to be served at room temp? That's perfect news for these colder months ahead, right?

For this monthā€™s extra hoppy spread weā€™re pinpointing 7ā€¦ yes 7ā€¦ of our favourite spots where you can pair an absolutely delicious meal with a bottle of Farsons Green Hop IPA! Weā€™re not saying that you should smash these out in one full IPA hoppy week, but heyā€¦ if you wanted to you sure could! This selection is as versatile as it gets; with traditional Maltese meals, a chippy classic, some Asian flair and maybe a burger or two - letā€™s face it, youā€™d expect more than 1 burger to be on our list, right? šŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™€ļø

Letā€™s take a look at the smashing selection we rustled up with our good friends Farsons. šŸ‘

Rabbit + IPA = LIFE

Hopping into the list with a traditional dish that locals canā€™t get enough of and visitors to our sunny land, despite the primary hesitation, go at full-force, hands at the ready, forgetting what cutlery even is! šŸ’Ŗ

We headed to Spinolaā€™s Gululu for their iconic fried rabbit that comes with a stunning thyme and pea combo! Fried with garlic then slow cooked with aromatics to create their signature mouthwatering dish thatā€™s elegantly plated but not so elegantly devoured. Thereā€™s something barbaric about eating rabbit with a fork and knife. šŸ‡²šŸ‡¹

If you know rabbit dishes and you know them well, youā€™ll 100% agree that thereā€™s no better to soak up that Maltese-ness than with a good old local beerā€¦ but fancy it up; go for a Farsons Green Hop IPA - you may eat like a caveperson, doesnā€™t mean you need to drink like one too! šŸ¤£

Burgers, views and hoppy ales

Slide on down to Sliemaā€™s top lido spot that makes our summers great and our winter days a wave-watching wonder. The Exiles Restaurant is all about living life the good way with superb views of the local blue waters and damn fine food that always hits the spot. šŸ”„

Your lunches never have to be the same again, with their banginā€™ Cheesy Angus Burger served with a homemade beef patty and topped with a fried Applewood, Brie and Red Leicester bomb, all encased in a soft AF brioche bun - just how we like it! šŸ‘Œ

The robust cheese addition to this burger pairs exceedingly well with Farsons Green Hop IPA, mostly because this IPA carries fruity undertones with a biscuity and malty flavour profile - making the smoky Applewood, creamy Brie and tart Red Leicester pop in flavour with every swig of IPA. šŸ˜

Chip Supper + IPA = šŸ¤Æ

When you get that craving for a chunk of battered fish, fried to perfection thereā€™s only one thing to doā€¦ head to the Pub for a Chippy, because when you order Fish & Chips, youā€™ve got to, by law, accompany it with a beer. šŸ¤šŸ¼

The Queen Victoria Pub in Valletta is one great spot to visit if youā€™re dreaming of those London days at the pub, taking a break as city life passes on in the background! Set up with a great pub grub offering, their Fish & Chips is fried to perfection and served with a stack of fries, and them absolutely necessary mushy peas and tartar sauce! šŸ«”

Eating this dish correctly goes a little something like this: fish > tartarā€¦ chomp, chomp, chomp. Peas > friesā€¦ chomp, chomp, swish! And that swish is made absolutely perfect with a Farsons Green Hop IPA. Itā€™s smooth and cuts through the oily fish, blending calmly with its delicate interior. šŸŸ

Another burger? Sure!

Hey, donā€™t hold it against us, we like our burgersā€¦ and we like them good! Charles Bar Pub & Grill slap out one mean burger, so like it or not you might see a burger post or two from these guys feature on our page soonā€¦ and if you try it, you really wonā€™t blame us! šŸ¤™

The Genovese Burger comes with 200g of pure Angus beef and is topped with caramelized onions, melted cheese, a healthy tomato to keep things fresh, their tasty fresh pesto and a secret sauce that we canā€™t get over! šŸ¤«

The only way we could power through this beastly beast was with a generous washing down of the intense flavour with an even more flavour packed tipple, you know itā€¦ itā€™s Farsons Green Hop IPA. Ahh, we love our job! šŸ’–

Lampuki Pie in Gozo

Going to Gozo and not visiting Cafe Jubilee is as unpatriotic as not eating lampuki pie in October, November and if youā€™re lucky December too. If you donā€™t comply with these here rules, weā€™re sure you miss out on the fabulousness that is Farsons Green Hop IPA. And for these reasons we question your life choices. šŸ„§

The Lampuki Pie at the OG Cafe Jubilee is filled to the brim with flavour, just like Nanna makes it. Itā€™s meaty and fresh and totally Maltese, so thatā€™s a cool thing in itself. Served with chips to make sure you donā€™t go hungry on your lunch spot in the capital of Victoria. šŸ‘µ

Taking this Lampuki Pie to the next level required a glass bottle filled with the creamiest hoppy flavour. A job that could only be accomplished by one show stopping ale... Farsons Green Hop IPA! šŸ¤¤

Porks (thatā€™s pork x2)

If youā€™ve ever worked in Mosta, had a meeting in Mosta or kind of voyaged through Mostaā€™s bustling centre and needed a quick meal thatā€™s packed with homemade goodness, then weā€™re sure youā€™ve heard of Mellowā€™s. šŸŒ†

Mellowā€™s is the kind of place youā€™d visit when you want something filling, absolutely delicious and donā€™t want to spend too much, and most importantly you donā€™t have to hang around too long to get served and head back out on your busy day. Their Duo of Pork is a special that came out of their humble kitchen. šŸ§‘ā€šŸ³

This kitchen took their Farsons Green Hop IPA collab to a whole new levelā€¦ infusing the famous IPA into their braised pork cheek reduction as well as their crispy pork belly glaze. Talk about dedication! Amplify the flavours of malt, biscuit and that all round classic local appeal by pouring yourself another glassā€¦ go on! You deserve it! šŸ†

And your heart goes, bao, ba, bao, bao, bao

Hello, did someone say Asian food + beer? Iā€™m inā€¦ ohhh, Iā€™m so in! Thereā€™s something about Asian cuisine, especially their dim sum style servings, maybe even a ramen that just beckons for a good ale to make the dish complete. It might be the spicy kick, or maybe that umami packed flavouring, but boy does it work! šŸ„¢

The Steamed Sweet Pork Belly Bao Bun at AYU is one for the books! Itā€™s perfectly composed with fresh cucumbers, coriander and that hit of chilli that makes Asian food a crowd favourite. These fluffy milk buns are exactly what the doctor ordered, whether you need a pick-me-up or simply need to celebrate life and all its greatness! šŸŒ¶ļø

Now slap a Farsons Green Hop IPA into the mix and youā€™ll be flying. Sliving - thatā€™s slaying and living for all of you not up with the latest lingo! Seriously top eats right here! Take our word for it or better yet, try this combo yourselves! šŸ’…

What would life be without Farsons Classic Brews and their excellent ways of pairing with such a versatile selection of cuisines? We donā€™t know, and quite frankly we donā€™t really want to find out! Thank you Green Hop IPA for all the love you fill our lives with! We owe you! šŸ™
