Aesthetic ways to decorate the dining room for your next Dinner Party 🥳

Aesthetic ways to decorate the dining room for your next Dinner Party 🥳

In Malta (and surely many other countries) we just don’t treat eating as a mere chore. Eating food is a part of our culture and our social life. The majority of us would rather meet up for lunch with friends at the weekend than eat something by ourselves without devoting some appreciation to the meal before us.

That’s probably why we love dinner parties so much. Whether with family or friends, COVID has taught us that you don’t necessarily need to go to a restaurant to enjoy some good food with the people close to you. In fact, you can do that right at home. 🏠

While good food is basically the prime reason that drives us to host dinner parties, being comfortable and appealing is the next best thing that hypes us up for them too. The next time you invite people over for dinner at your place, follow these dining room decor tips that’ll make any room look even a little bit more aesthetic.

Stock up on candles

When inviting people over, you want to make them feel at home in a comfy and cosy environment. Warm lighting is a friend when you want to achieve this. Go ahead and dim the light or switch off any bright, white light that makes the room too cold. Instead, stock up on candles and place them everywhere in your dining room - on the table, cabinets and even on top of shelves. 🕯️

Place cards on plates

And you can be as cheesy as you want with this. Placing cards on top of plates for guests to find before sitting down is a great way of adding a little bit of character to the room. The best thing is that you can make this your own. Leave formal greetings, a loving message or an inside joke - but make it yours. 🍽️

More plants, please

If you happen to follow the latest design trends, you know that plants are in this year. Plans are known to create a relaxing mood in a room - perfectly suitable for the dining room where all your good food is eaten. 🌵

Use clear dishes

Modern-looking, aesthetic and they get your guests excited about eating all that delicious food you've prepared. Making use of clear or plain dishes, wine jars and plates sheds light on all the hard work you've put in your meals by putting them right on display. đź‘€

Put your goodies on a pedestal

Hosting a dinner party takes up a lot of time and effort. It’s safe to say that you’re going to want to showcase all your hard work by placing your food in the centre of it all. Making use of cake stands and small pedestals is a great way of focusing everyone’s attention on the good food you’ve just spent all day making. They also look really pretty too! ✨
