Back to School? Check Out These Cool Lunch Ideas 🍱

We all know how hectic life can get sometimes. Going back to university, Junior College, MCAST, Higher Secondary, or any other school, can be stressful in itself, but having to think about what you’re going to make for lunch can add on unnecessary tension. 🤯



So we’re here to help you out! Check out these six lunch ideas that can be eaten cold and are easy to make. If you’re not in school anymore, you can still try these out for work! 👇

Buddha Bowl or Poke Bowl

Buddha bowls and poke bowls are basically a bowl that has everything you need in one bowl: carbs, protein, good fats and greens. Buddha bowls are typically vegetarian, whereas poke bowls include non-vegetarian items. Just add rice, some veggies (carrot, red cabbage, snow peas, chickpeas, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, sweet corn, avocado - whatever you want!) and your favourite protein. 😋



Rye Bread Sandwich

Rye bread is a healthier alternative to white sandwich bread and it also has more flavour. The best combos for a sandwich are bacon, lettuce and tomatoes (BLT is life!), sliced turkey, mayo and lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, and a cream cheese and dill mixture, or maybe even fresh spinach leaves, egg and honey mustard. 🥪



Asian Noodle Salad

Whether it’s rice noodles, egg noodles, or any other kind of noodles, an Asian noodle salad is a great lunch option. Drizzle it with some soy sauce and honey, add spinach leaves, scallions, carrots, peppers, cabbage and peanuts and you’ve got a super flavourful lunch waiting for you. 🍜



Cold Pasta with Veggies

Cold pasta is just so comforting. After endless lectures and hours of concentration, you need something to fuel up your brain. Boil some pasta, grill some carrots, zucchini, aubergines, or anything else you like and mix everything together. Don’t forget to add some olive oil, mayo, or even sriracha for extra flavour. 🤤

Shredded Chicken Wrap

I find this very helpful when there’s leftover chicken, but you can also grill chicken breast or thighs and shred them up with a fork. The tastiest chicken wraps include refreshing ingredients like cucumbers, lettuce and mayonnaise. But obviously, you can add anything you like! 🌯



Greek Rice Salad

Refreshing, easy and delicious, this rice salad is perfect for lunch. Just mix diced cucumbers, halved cherry tomatoes, olive oil, feta cheese and some black olives if you wish. If you want to go the extra mile, top it up with a dollop of tzatziki too! 😍
