6 Essential Movie Night Snacks 🍿

6 Essential Movie Night Snacks 🍿

Don’t you just love movie night? Let’s admit it. While watching favourite trilogies or the hottest blockbusters is incredibly fun,  movie night would not be as half as enjoyable as it is without some tasty movie snacks. If you’re going to let loose and indulge, what better time to do so than movie night? 🍿

Set the popcorn aside, here are my all-time favourite movie night nibbles that make me want to curl up and watch a movie every single day.

Chocolate-Banana Sticks

Chocolate and banana: a match made in heaven. Bananas can easily be dressed in chocolate - all you need to do is melt a few of your favourite chocolate bars, cut up some bananas and pop them on a stick. Coat the fruit with chocolate and once it’s ready, refrigerate to let it form. Sprinkle some coconut shavings or crushed nuts on top for the most delicious result. 🍌

Crunchy Popcorn Chicken with Sauce

Think of this as a more genuine alternative to the normal fast food pick. These small-cut chicken bites are easy to make. It’s just like breading and frying a normal chicken breast, but with smaller cuts. Pair your popcorn-like chicken bites with a selection of your favourite sauces.

Tip: I always feel like garlic sauce goes just marvellously with these chicken bites. 🐔

Homemade Guacamole

Is there a better dip than a good, chunky guacamole? The best thing about this avocado-based sauce is that it goes with pretty much anything. On a diet? Scoop it up with some baby carrots or cucumbers. Want to indulge? Dip tortilla chips or chicken bites. The possibilities are endless! 🥑

Small Margheritas

I love eating pizza, but I love eating many pizzas more. When it comes to movie night, selection is key when it comes to food. Instead of buying one ready-made oven pizza, buy three or four small Margheritas, depending on how many people you’re going to feed. By doing this, you can dress your pizzas however you want - and you’ll have different options too. I always like to have one tuna and onion pizza, one pepperoni pizza, one all-veggie pizza and one chicken and BBQ sauce. This might take a little more time to prepare but trust me, it will be worth it. 🍕

Maltese Style Comfort Food

Because a classic Maltese platter may be a little too fancy on movie night. Start off by placing some stuffed olives in a bowl. Next, pick your favourite deli-dips and place them on a platter board with some crackers. Bigilla, tuna and mayo and salmon dips are classic and tasty. Next, comes the fun part. Take your Maltese movie night platter to the next level by taking your favourite gbejna and breading it. Once it’s breaded, place it in some oil and fry it. Cut it in half, watch adoringly as the cheese melts on your platter board, and enjoy! 🫒

Fried Ravioli

The one rule you should always keep in mind when it comes to preparing movie night snacks is to have fun with it! Turn your classic ravioli dish up a notch by frying your ravioli instead of just boiling them the normal way. While your ravioli’s frying, prepare some tomato sauce in a bowl. Make sure it’s not too acidic by adding in some cheese and fresh herbs. Once your ravioli’s fried, place it on a separate bowl and season with more herbs and a lot of salt. Dip your ravioli in the tomato sauce, and eat! Once you try this comfort food, you’ll find it difficult to go back to cooking ravioli the traditional way. 🍅

Now, sit back, dig in and enjoy the show!

Will you be trying these snacks?
