5 Unique Dishes from Restaurants in Malta π€©
Ever wanted to try something new or out of your comfort zone when it comes to food? Weβve gathered five of our favourite unique dishes from restaurants in Malta, so whenever youβre feeling adventurous, you can try one of these out! π
Cangrejo Reventado - Machu Picchu
Machu Picchu is a Peruvian restaurant situated at The Plaza Food Hall in Sliema. This restaurant serves a number of dishes that are super popular in Peru, but unique to Malta. One that caught our attention is the Cangrejo Reventado; almost half a kilo of crab, served with a Peruvian dressing with eggs, alongside boiled potatoes and white rice. π
Paswitch - Elephant Shoe
This new brunch spot in Valletta is killing it! Serving up some incredibly delicious dishes in a stunning location, Elephant Shoe only recently opened its doors but is taking away the brunch world by storm. One of their unique dishes is the Paswitch - a pastizzi pastry sandwich filled with scrambled eggs, feta cheese, chorizo and peas. π€€
Maiz Tres Leche - LOA
This super delicious dessert will blow you away. The Maiz Tres Leche from LOA is a fluffy vanilla sponge with cinnamon mascarpone, popcorn and aerated white chocolate, that is actually black in colour. Wowza! π
Key Wot - Afro Deli and Coffee
Have you ever tried Ethiopian food? If not, check this place out! While these dishes may be unique to Malta, they are probably not as unique in Ethiopia. The Key Wot from Afro Deli and Coffee is a hearty lamb stew with onions and berbere sauce served with salad and injera (a soft, crepe-like bread). π
The Black Egg - The Black Egg
Both the name of the dish and the name of the place are not your typical name. But have you ever seen a black poached egg? The Black Egg is a popular brunch dish at The Black Egg, which includes crusted sourdough bread, pomegranate, crushed avocado and chilli, and a black poached egg. It looks AND tastes amazing. π
