5 Meat-Free Recipes You Need to Try at Home 🌱

We all know what the repercussions of global warming and climate change are doing to our planet. There are a lot of things that we can do to help reduce these effects. One of the easiest ways that we can do this is by reducing our carbon footprint, which is the amount of greenhouse gases emitted into the atmosphere by our actions. ☁️

And guess what? Eating meat, especially beef, has an extremely high carbon footprint! We’re not saying that you should immediately stop eating meat. However, it would help our planet a whole lot if we could reduce our overall meat intake! Plus, there’s a bunch of meat-free recipes that are super tasty! Let’s have a look at just 5 of them:

Veggie Satay Noodles

This is one of my favourite dishes ever! A mix of soy sauce, peanut butter, honey (or maple or agave syrup), rice vinegar and sesame oil makes such an awesome satay sauce. You can incorporate sriracha for an extra kick to it. Add it to a mix of noodles and stir-fried veggies and you've got a perfect meal. Check out this recipe below from @plantful_ina! 🍜

Tofu Curry

You don't need to miss out on a comforting bowl of curry if you want to go meatless. Tofu is a great addition to any dish. It absorbs the flavour of anything it is marinated or cooked in, so you'll have a super flavourful curry dish! Try this recipe out. You can opt for any veggies you like and even replace the tofu with chickpeas if you wish. 🍛

Meat-free Bolognese

That’s right! A usually meaty dish can also be meat-free. You can replace the beef mince with Quorn mince or even finely chopped mushrooms. Doesn’t sound like too much effort, does it? 🍝

Would you give up meat to save the environment?

Roasted Aubergine

I saw this on Instagram, and although I’m not a huge fan of aubergines, I’ve got to say, it looks quite tasty. It consists of a roasted aubergine fanned out on a generous portion of hummus, topped with some feta and a caper salsa. It looks gorgeous too! 🍆

Spring/Summer Rolls

Spring rolls or summer rolls? Either way, they’re just so delicious. Grab yourself a packet of spring roll wrappers next time you visit the supermarket - they make for such a quick and yummy meal. 🤤

Just dip them in warm water, place your desired fillings and close them up! You can either eat them cold or fry them up and serve them warm. Just make sure your fillings can be cooked if you’re going for the latter! 😋

There are so many mouth-watering meat-free recipes to try out! Should we post more meat-free options on our website and socials? Let us know in the comments below! 👇
