5 Hot Winter Cocktails for a Cold Happy Hour 🍹

5 Hot Winter Cocktails for a Cold Happy Hour 🍹

COVID-19 may have taken away our parties, our birthdays, our weddings and other big social events this year - but has it taken our ability to make the most out of every situation? No, it hasn’t. This Christmas, you probably won’t be celebrating the festive season with all of your colleagues, friends and family members. However, you’ll also have more time to stay home and invite a couple of friends over for drinks. 🍹

To get you feeling festive this month, here are our favourite boozy drinks you can make right in the comfort of your home. Read on to get the best cocktail ideas you’ll be definitely needing the next time you have people over. 🍸

Classic Hot Toddy

It seems somewhat appropriate to start with a drink that’s meant to boost your immune system without alcohol in it (we are in a pandemic after all). This zesty drink consists of water, whiskey/dark rum/scotch, honey, lemon juice, a thin slice of lemon and a cinnamon stick to make it taste extra flavourful. 🥃

Spiced Latte Turned Bad

While we don’t recommend spiking your coffee before work in the morning, sipping on this drink might just lessen your hangover the next day. This warming drink consists of a regular spiced latte (made either at home or ordered from a coffee shop close by) and a shot of bourbon, vanilla rum or Baileys

Cinnamon & Caramel Martini

Tastes just like your favourite hot drink as a child, but more fun. This vodka martini consists of warmed caramel, heavy cream, a cinnamon stick, brown sugar, whipped cream to be put on top and a pinch of ground cinnamon. Flavoured vodka really works well with this drink, especially caramel or chocolate flavoured vodka. 🍫

Blackberry Mulled Wine

Your favourite seasonal drink made better. We totally get why this fruity and spicy drink is such a crowd-pleaser. All you need are a bottle of red wine, apple cider, orange juice and slices, cinnamon sticks, cinnamon cloves, some blackberries and maple syrup. 🍊

Christmassy Cranberry Punch

What’s a Christmassy cocktail party without cranberry punch? For this one, you’re going to need some frozen cranberries, pomegranate seeds, cranberry flavoured vodka, cranberry juice, any simple syrup and some rosemary sprigs or mint leaves to garnish. Trust us, this doesn’t disappoint. 🎅
